A Seussical Thank You
by Jeanette McGowan P'16

What a marvelous night we enjoyed as your guest,
'Twas a wondrous affair, as all will attest.

The tent was outrageous - it even had doors!
There were heaters and lights and gables galore!

The new Forbush Center was next to the tent,
We ogled and ahed, how our money was spent.

First we had drinks, some Quaker sangria.
They felt so darn easy, but oh! "Mama Mia!"

Darrell and Terry emceed like the pros,
With singers and actors - a show of all shows!

Then the man of the evening came up to the mic,
Matt spoke to inspire - a true Quakerite!

Then on to a feast in the big fancy tent,
There was plenty of nosh for each lady and gent.

Each dish was arranged in a single glass vessel,
Each morsel was scrumptious and ever so special.

But the best part of all was how grateful we felt,
From our head to our toes, our hearts could just melt.

How lucky we are to have wonderful Friends,
Where dreams are imagined, where the journey transcends.

So thank you to all, from those who just played,
'Twas the best of all bashes, this entire decade!

Finished!
